As we welcome the new year, ROSG is proud to announce a new season of the popular hard-hitting docu-series, Fíor Scéal which will begin Tuesday 5 January.
To mark the one year anniversary of the tragic Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack which saw 12 journalists and staff shot dead and a further 11 injured, ROSG will begin the new Fíor Scéal series with the extraordinary documentary, Charlie Hebdo: Paris Under Attack.
This documentary looks back on that terrible event and the other attacks and murders that followed. We will see the manhunt, the siege and the final police assaults against the perpetrators. We will also see the global response as thousands around the world expressed their anger at what had happened. Through key witnesses testimonies and exclusive footage, this documentary will tell the inside story and heretofore unknown facts of the Paris attacks.
Other documentaries featuring in the Fíor Scéal series include:
Two Black Men a Week , Tuesday 12/01/16: In the USA, a young black man has 21 more chances of getting killed by the police than a young white man. So what’s going wrong between the police and the black community in the US? Recent news reports have put this issue back on the agenda: riots in Ferguson (Missouri), protests in New York after Eric Garner’s death, choked during an abusive arrest, but also a real emotion after the death of the 12 year old boy Tamir Rice also killed by the police. Every time, the same questions rise: why this disproportionate use of force? What are the authorities doing to fight the police’s abusive behaviour?
North Pole Rihanna, Tuesday 19/01/16: Kelly Fraser is 21 and she's a star. On stage, Kelly Fraser sings, and everywhere she goes, it's madness. Why is she so successful? Because Kelly Fraser does not just sing, she restores pride and hope to an entire nation. For the Inuit's, Kelly believes that things can and must change. And she does all she can for that to happen. We followed the "Kelly Fraser snow trip" concerts to understand how, through her artistic talent, she wants to prove to the people that anything is possible
Fíor Scéal will air every Tuesday at 10.30pm on TG4 and repeats late Thursday nights.
