Mike P Ó Conaola

Mike P. Ó  Conaola is originally from Sídheán, An Spidéal.  He is a radio and television producer who spent many years working for RTÉ and Raidió na Gaeltachta.  He won a Jacob’s Award in 1973.   

On top of his broadcasting work, he has done quite a lot of acting in Dublin – in the Damer, the Peacock and the Abbey Theatre.  He has also acted in plays with Aisteoirí an Spidéil, Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe and Seven Ages Theatre Company.  It was Maidhc P. who directed Joe Steve Ó Neachtain’s acclaimed drama Níor Mhaith Linn do Thrioblóid which toured the country and Boston in the USA.   

Maidhc P. has acted in the film Raic which was made in Carna a number of years ago, and in other television films over the years.  He appears regularly on the television soap Ros na Rún.  He plays the part of Detective in Na Cloigne.
