Garda Colm Ó Cadhain is a “bright eyed and bushy tailed” young Garda straight out of Templemore College. Since he began working in Cloigeann Garda Station Colm has been the loyal “go to guy” for the local Detective Ó Giollagáin. Ó Giollagáin relishes in the deference and respect offered by the young Garda.
With the arrival of Superintendent Ó Sé as the chief investigator of the brutal murders, the relationship between Colm and the Detective is put under pressure. Colm is intrigued by Ó Sé and his bizarre process of detection. Colm finds his seemingly illogical reasoning to be exciting and new, and hangs on his every word.
In contrast Detective Ó Giollagáin has no respect for Superintendent Ó Sé and is probably a bit jealous of the chemistry between Colm and the Superintendent.
