In the first episode, artist Nuala, played by Siobhán O Kelly, reaches crisis point in her relationship with her adulterous boyfriend Seán, played by Dara Devaney.
The morning after yet another violent row with Nuala, Seán wakes up from a disturbing dream full of dark, dangerous characters and Nuala is nowhere to be found. Seán’s concern grows when he learns a woman’s decapitated, naked body has been found in the nearby woods but his nightmare is only beginning, as he becomes drawn further into the investigation of the brutal murder.
Life continues at an unhappy pace elsewhere in the village of Cloigeann. Seán’s latest fling Áine harbours deep resentment that he won’t leave Nuala for her, groundskeeper Mánas mounts war on his estranged brother Diarmuid while ‘peeping tom’ Jacko watches over proceedings.
Na Cloigne is directed by Robert Quinn and produced by Ciarán Ó Cofaigh for ROSG, a Conamara based film and television production company.
